We are thrilled to have officially launched the CLAIRE Oslo Office, June 3rd, 2021. Participating in the launch, we were excited to have the support from the Minister of Local Government and Modernisation Nikolai Astrup, who provided a keynote speech during the launch.

We are very excited to have finally launched the CLAIRE Oslo Office in Norway! The launch took place on June 3rd, and was attended by over 70 people from all over Europe. With a specially tailored program, which focused on the Nordic Model - Connecting Young Talent, we were joined by excellent keynote speakers, panelists and representatives from Norway and the United Kingdom who provided interesting insights and perspectives for how CLAIRE can continue to build relationships and bridges between clusters in the Nordic region to the wider CLAIRE Network.

AI for Sustainability and the Sustainability of AI
The European Conference on Information Retrieval (ECIR) is the premier European forum for the presentation of new research results in the broadly conceived area of Information Retrieval. ECIR features full-paper and poster presentations, system demonstrations, tutorials, workshops, an industry-oriented event, and traditionally has a strong focus on the active participation of early-career researchers. The 44th edition of ECIR is planned to be held as a physical conference (with support for remote attendance) at the northernmost location in the history of the conference, in Stavanger, Norway between April 10 and 14, 2022.
Inspiring keynote sessions, parallel sessions, innovation workshops, information on new funding opportunities and targeted 1:1 meetings promises new Nordic and European cooperation and proposals.

On its mission to ensure the success of "AI made in Europe", CLAIRE is celebrating its reach across Europe by launching four new offices in Zurich, Oslo, Paris and Brussels in an Office Launch Roadshow beginning on 26 May to strengthen the CLAIRE vision of inclusive and co-creative collaboration for responsible AI research and innovation across Europe. These new offices complement the four existing CLAIRE offices in The Hague, Prague, Rome and Saarbrücken.

Ønsker du å vite mer om de foreslåtte reguleringene av 'høy-risiko' kunstig intelligens (KI) fra Europakommisjonen? Det kan være fornuftig om du jobber med KI innenfor helse, utdanning, infrastruktur og en rekke andre områder Europakommisjonen mener kan være 'høy-risiko'. Som det var med personvernforordringen fra EU (GDPR) er denne foreslåtte reguleringen med arbeidsnavnet 'the Artificial Intelligence Act' et bredt grep som vil påvirke mange områder i samfunnet. Med tanke på at det er høy sannsynlighet for at disse nye reguleringene vil komme i kraft og har vi i NORA bestemt oss for å bedre forstå disse nye reguleringene.

The Midnight Sun Conference for Patient-Centered Artificial Intelligence 2021 is hosted in Tromsø June 15 and 16. The conference brings together researchers, clinicians, and other interested parties to share experiences, discuss and learn about how artificial intelligence is used and can be implemented in the health service.
