About the speaker |
Andy manages the 30 million NOK Innovation Roadmap project, which is developing a national roadmap to accelerate innovation in research-intensive biotechnology. Before moving to Norway, he co-founded a diagnostics spinout from the University of Bristol and served as CEO for three years. Andy holds a PhD in cancer research and has worked across a range of innovation and commercialisation roles, including venture capital consulting, innovation policy for the UK Research Councils, and founding the Innovation Programme at the Bristol Centre for Synthetic Biology, which helped create seven new companies. Although he is not a careers counsellor, Andy has used the “start-up approach” throughout his own career transitions — often moving into new roles while writing very few, if any, formal job applications. |
