Earlier this year, you might have seen the news of Margrete Alva, Snezhina Duevska and Justine Dickhoff joining NORA as permanent staff, followed by Geir Halsnes in a temporary role and Anne-Kat. Hærland in a part-time role focusing on outreach.
More recently, the team has been joined by Andrea Gasparini, in a 20% role focusing on AI ethics. Gasparini is a Senior Academic Librarian at the University of Oslo Library Digital Services, as well as as a Senior Lecturer on Digitalisation, and will be a tremendous resource both for NORA and his NORA Secretariat colleagues.
As the NORA.ai secretariat has grown considerably over the past year, driven by the rapid expansion of the field of Artificial Intelligence, Michael Solvang has taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer, to ensure well-coordinated daily operations and administration. Over the past 1.5 years, Solvang has gained extensive experience by leading NORA's EU network, the NORA Research School, and the annual conference, in addition to contributing to proposal writing. His expertise and experience makes him an excellent choice to oversee the daily operations of the secretariat.
