Partners BI, NTNU, the University of Agder, and the Centre for AI and Robotics at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute will present their work, followed by a panel discussion with academics, practitioners, and policymakers on the implications of AI in public spaces.

This event presents key findings from the international research project AI4Citizens: Responsible AI for Citizen Safety in Future Smart Cities. A light lunch will be available for registered participants from 12:30.

The event will cover:

  • Citizen evaluations and drivers of acceptance in high-risk AI contexts.
  • Transparency and trust in the responsible AI implementation for public safety.
  • Anonymized crowd monitoring: solutions and challenges.
  • Contextual video object search for crime investigation: solutions and challenges.
  • Actionable policy recommendations.

The research project was carried out between 2021 and 2026 and was funded by the Research Council of Norway.
