Stipend to Attend Nordic AI Workshops, Seminars or Conferences

NORA Research School now offers up to 5,000 NOK of travel stipend to help PhD candidates partially cover the cost of travel and accommodation when attending workshops, seminars and conferences at our Nordic partner institutes.

Who can apply

The stipend is open to members of the NORA Research Schools who are affiliated with NORA partner institute. Each member can receive the funding once.

What it covers

The stipend partially covers travel to the destination and accommodation. It is a contribution, not full reimbursement.

Eligible events

You can apply to attend a workshop, seminar or conference organized by one of our Nordic partner institutes.

  • Denmark: P1, CAISA
  • Finland: FCAI
  • Iceland: CADIA
  • Sweden: WASP, WASP-HS

How applications are assessed

We look for two things:

  1. A clear justification of why attending the event matters for your PhD project.
  2. A good understanding of the event's objectives.
Apply - At least three weeks before the event. Get a decision - You will hear from us within two weeks. Attend - If accepted, you receive detailed information on how to receive the stipend. Share - You may be asked for a short report on your experience. Application period: 1 October 2026 - 1 October 2027, or until all funding is distributed
