Other Financial Support

Members of NORA Research School may be eligible for financial support to attend conferences, workshops, and other events. Eligibility is limited to current, active members of NORA Research School.

(If your institution is not a NORA member, NORA cannot provide financial support for your participation. You or your institute or must then cover all costs.)

Types of support

Fully Funded Registration

For a limited set of events, NORA covers the full event registration fee on behalf of eligible members. Example: NLDL conference.

When registration is fully funded, NORA will either (a) pay the event organizers directly, or (b) reimburse your registration receipt after you register and pay, depending on the event.

Travel stipend (partial reimbursement)

For many events, NORA provides travel stipends up to a pre‑set maximum amount to assist with travel related costs. Example: NORA Summer School.

Maximum stipend amounts and criteria are specified in the event‑specific announcement.

How support is paid

All NORA financial support is provided as reimbursement. NORA does not provide cash advances.

To receive reimbursement, you must submit a complete reimbursement request with original receipts and proof of payment. See the infographic below for a step-by-step explanation of the reimbursement process:

1) Collect travel-related receipts 2) NORA will send you a form to fill out with your bank information 3) Your profile on the DFØ portal will be created, where you can upload all your expenses 4) Your travel reimbursement can be expected about a month after submission

You can expect the reimbursement one to two months after filling out the related documents.
