On Friday 28th March, we received some very good news from Minister of Research and Higher Education Sigrun Aasland, who visited UiO and NORA to announce that grants have been awarded for new reseach schools. Our research school NORA-HS; Norwegian Graduate School for How AI Impacts Humanities and Society, was awarded 15.5 million NOK!

Minister Aasland with NORA CEO Klas Pettersen, members of the Research Council and UiO staff

NORA-HS will educate future researchers in analysing the societal consequences of AI. The school will focus on AI's influence on society, innovation and research, according to Norway's strategic goals and investments within AI. The research school will prepare researchers for handling challenges tied to AI within areas such as democracy, law, education, culture, welfare, governance and security.

We're very happy that the Research Council decided to support this important project!
