"“The Ten Oil Commandments” from 1971 provided guidelines for how Norway should manage important natural resources so that they benefit the whole society. This is how Norway managed to not only build an industry, but to build increased prosperity for an entire nation. Today, Norway faces a new resource and a new force: data and artificial intelligence (AI).

KI has enormous potential to increase human welfare, but also involves unprecedented dangers. That is why Norwegian politicians need principles — or commandments — that provide direction when technology develops faster than legislation, institutions and political processes."

The text above is by Langsikt - Center for Long-Term Policy and their expert committe consisting of 15 people, which have developed 10 commandments for AI - accompanied by specific policy proposals in separate chapters.

NORA is mentioned in commandment 7 b) on research: "Build well-coordinated research environments. This can be done by supporting good collaboration structures for Norwegian AI research, like NORA.ai."

The committe consists of Silvija Seres (leader), Laxmi Akkaraju, Heather Broomfield, Klas Pettersen, Morten Goodwin, Aksel Braanen Sterri, Paul Chaffey, Marianne Marthinsen, Isabelle Ringnes, Niels Nagelhus Schia, Eskil Grendahl Sivertsen, Torgeir Andrew Waterhouse, Christer Tryggestad and Camilla Stoltenberg, and you can find the full text here.
