We are collaborating with Helmholtz Information & Data Science Academy (HIDA) for a research exchange between Germany and Norway. All 18 research centres of the Helmholtz Association are open for collaboration with us.

Conduct research at one of the Helmholtz Association institutes - NORA supports your stay with a travel grant of up to 10000 NOK per month to cover expenses.


Who is eligible to apply?

The exchange opportunity is mainly for PhDs and postdocs with a working contract at one of the NORA partners at the time of the exchange.

How do I apply?

You choose a host from HIDA and apply here. Applications are open now until September 12, 2022.

(if you do not find a relevant host for your focus in the host list. you can still contact any other professor linked with HIDA Institutes and mention their details in the application)

The application will pass two steps: First, the NORA office will screen your application, and then your future host will give their final vote.

What is the timeline?

  • Aug 15, 2022 - Sept 12, 2022: Applications are open
  • End of Sept 2022: You’re notified about your potential host’s decision
  • Oct 2022 - Sept 2023: Exchange period - You and your host determine the best time for the exchange. You can postpone exchanges (i.e. for pandemic reasons) up to December 31, 2023.

If the project allows, you can also work on it remotely in part, but are strongly encouraged to spend time onsite.
