Join our next NORA.startup webinar, where we will meet and be introduced to different cloud service providers and their service catalogues. During the webinar, we will hear brief descriptions of what the various companies can provide in terms of storage, computing, and other tools and services they can offer researchers and startups in AI / ML and Robotics. 

During the webinar, we will become acquainted with the various cloud providers, their services catalouges to try to answer a few questions: 


  • What should you look for in a cloud service provider, as a startup? 

  • What startup schemes do you provide, and how are they beneficial to startups? 

  • How do you handle regulatory compliance and GDPR in the cloud? 

  • What unique services can you offer AI and ML companies? 

  • What solutions for AI on the cloud exist - especially sensitive cases (healthcare) – and what are some opportunities and challenges within this domain?

Xiaopeng Li - Microsoft Azure 

As Cloud & AI Business Lead in Microsoft Norway, Xiaopeng leads the go-to-market strategy and execution of Microsoft Azure. As a devoted community builder, Xiaopeng has co-founded "Oslo AI", a non-profit dedicated to building AI community in Oslo. He is also a self-proclaimed evangelist of UN Sustainable Development Goals.


Kristian Fjellhaug, Sales Director Safespring Norge

25+ years of experience in IT-sales, including senior sales positions in Gartner, VMware and Arrow

Jarle Bjørgeengen, Senior cloud architect - Safespring AS

20 + years of experience in IT-operations, research infrastructures, infrastructure as service and the last 8 years he has been focusing on  container platform design and implementation. Jarle has MsC in system and network administration from the University of Oslo and published conference papers with topics like storage performance, container platform architecture end network resilience.


Frode Langmoen, Senior Technical Specialist and Solution IT Architect at IBM, Nordic Region

Frode Langmoen, is Senior Technical Specialist and Solution IT Architect at IBM in the Nordic region. Frode has been involved in the technical community for many years and have 30+ years in the IT-industry. He is part of the IBM Accelerator team working with startup, scaleup's and solution providers, helping these companies create new and innovative solutions. Up until today they have helped more than 100+ companies for future innovative solutions. 


Moderator: Morten Goodwin

Morten Goodwin received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Agder, Norway, in 2003 and 2005, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Aalborg University Department of Computer Science, Denmark, in 2011, on applying machine learning algorithms on eGovernment indicators which are difficult to measure automatically. 

He is a Professor with the Department of ICT, the University of Agder, deputy director for Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research, a public speaker, author, and an active researcher. 

His main research interests include machine learning, including swarm intelligence, deep learning, and adaptive learning in medicine, games, and chatbots. He has more than 100 peer reviews of scientific publications. He has supervised more than 110 student projects, including Master and Ph. D. theses within these topics, and more than 90 popular science public speaking events, mostly in Artificial Intelligence, and recently authored the popular science book “AI. Myten om maskinene»
